We lucked out on being able to source this fruit from a special vineyard, Old Oak Vineyard, up in Paso Robles. The block the zinfandel comes from has a few alicante bouschet vines mixed in amongst the rows, adding some complexity to an already interesting wine. The vineyard has been farmed organically and has been dry farmed since planting, adding more interesting layers to the mix.

This zinfandel is not your typical California style, rich and big and in your face zinfandel. We aimed for freshness and vibrancy, pressing the lot off after only 5 days on the skins. It’s bright and lively and good chilled or unchilled, the choice is yours.
